Time to Press the Reset Button!

Sigh - just a sweet memory...
The view at sunrise from our balcony in Florida last year.

My health resolutions have not stuck very well.

I need to press the reset button and get back to making healthy eating choices, drinking my water, moving my body more, etc, etc...

I've decided that January is a more challenging month for eating well than the holidays. We have a bunch of family birthdays, the Super Bowl party and plenty of other events that have LOTS of tempting treats. To top it off, I have made the mistake of buying candy, of all things!

I'll never reach my goal at this rate. In fact, I'm heading in the wrong direction!

So, I am relisting my goals to remind myself and strengthen my weakening resolve:

* Drink 9 glasses of water daily

* Exercise 240 minutes a week

* Ditch the candy and limit myself to one sweet treat daily

* Get 7-8 hours of sleep a night

Those are not impossible goals. In fact, we are heading into a warm-up around here, the days are getting longer and I'm feeling the need for a walk "around the block". In the summer my sister and I walked a 4.7 mile loop almost every morning. It was the ultimate stress reliever, weight-buster workout, just over an hour long. I think it's time to get out there again!

I haven't done a very good job of checking in on my goals so I am making a public pledge to report back weekly on my progress.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Love the blog! I also love to buy used books. You've probably found this website already, but biblo.com has thousands of used books, I've gotten several for $1. And several for only $3. No joke :)

It's such a hard time of year. Something about this weather makes sitting in jammies with treats and a movie sounds better than exercise and veggies. Hang in there... just a few more months until better weather... technically a few days until slightly better weather. :)

You can do it! I had to go 'public' with my goals too. I just find it too easy to lie to myself if I don't hold myself accountable in some way.

This year, instead of my vision on goals, my vision is on running a race that will last this entire year, and then some. I don't know, it's hard to explain, but I have a desire to walk daily with my eyes on the Lord. For some reason, it's making me want to be more like Him-which may mean that my goals are His also....I'm not trying to sound like I have it all together because, boy, I do NOT. I am excited about being His and letting Him work out some life long kinks in me that I've been carrying around for too long: procrastination being the biggest. blessings, friend.

Hey there! I need to do that today too! I have been doing the best healthiest eating of my life & today I just needed some chocolate chip pancakes!!! So I made some for lunch & even slathered butter on them & enjoyed every bite! But now I need to get back on track! I have been really enjoying eating well even though it has meant a lot of cooking that I never would have tried otehrwise! It helps to be good friends with Shel too because she exposes me to all this good nutritious food!
