Stop By For A Christmas Tour

Looking out my kitchen window, I can see the beautiful snowy landscape.
We put an iron tree up behind the sink.
The children get to put a new ornament on the tree each day.
It'll look prettier and prettier as Christmas approaches.

The kitchen, looking deceptively clean.
We're usually cooking, or these days baking, up a storm in here!

The dining room with the china cabinet all decked out.

The entry bench, come and set a spell!

The Happy Holidays banner hanging in the foyer.

The dining room table centerpiece. I couldn't find a black velvet table runner
so I used a black velvet shawl/scarf that I had. It looks great!

My tea cart in the corner.
I just bought the spinning wooden pyramid that is sitting on it.
I've wanted one of those ever since I was a little girl!

Poinsettias next to a little green cart stolen
from the family room.

The dining room, ready for company!

A little table with a lit porcelain angel and
a few favorite Christmas books.

The living room, waiting for someone to come and sit a spell.
Another basket of the children's favorite Christmas books sits by the fireplace
on the floor. We try to read a different book from it each day.

I saved the grand finale for my 10 year old son's room.
He decorated it himself with lots of lights and 3M hooks.

It's that time of year again...

Time to decorate for Christmas! Fun, fun, fun! I love to decorate my home for Christmas. (Let's not talk about my post last year about taking it all down...) It's a big, but satisfying, job. Once again I prevailed upon my sister-in-law Debbie who, along with my brother, visited us after Thanksgiving for the weekend. She's amazingly creative and has a wonderful eye. I turned her loose on my dining room china cabinet and she transformed it!

My nephew Sam graciously transported furniture from downstairs to the main floor and back down again in our quest to create the perfect ambience. That was just a small portion of all the heavy duty hauling, moving and lifting that went on in our quest to create a bit of Christmas joy right here in our home. My husband kind of rolls his eyes but he's a good sport about bringing the boxes down from storage. He likes it when it's all done and he's conspicuously absent during the process, deer hunting up north. Be careful honey, that's when the wooden pyramid from Germany "magically" appeared! Heh, heh, heh...

Time to wrap up my little blog tour. I hope you enjoyed it!
